Royal Mail Box ~ "Don't Shoot The Messenger"

Daily Mail headline report There's something fishy going on: Mysterious red postbox appears overnight in the middle of a CANAL - but the Royal Mail say they know nothing about it

A Royal Mail letterbox recently appeared on a bridge in Berkshire. The traditional postbox is embedded on one of the buttresses of a brick bridge, in the village of Sonning-on-Thames.

(A buttress is an architectural structure built against or projecting from a wall which serves to support or reinforce the wall.Buttresses are fairly common on more ancient buildings, as a means of providing support to act against the lateral (sideways) forces arising out of the roof structures that lack adequate bracing.)

A postman spotted the post box and took a photograph as evidence.

'As he didn't have a boat handy, he took a photo from the riverbank to prove to his bosses just why he hadn't been able to make this particular collection in his van.

Posting a letter would be tricky too, and with the box nestled just a few feet above the water line, it would be likely to become waterlogged in the winter as this stretch of the Thames regularly floods.'

Psychic Uri Geller, who lives in Sonning, admitted he was stumped by the mystery of the letter box - how it got there, who put it there and why.

Mr Geller, a resident for three decades, said: 'I have never seen anything like this anywhere in the world, it's a new one on me.

'This is a very unusual village,'
he added.

'There are many sightings of a child ghost that walks on the bridge.

'Maybe it was the ghost of a mischievous little girl.'

Canal users were also puzzled and took to blogs to question why the post box was there.

Some have suggested the box is part of a promotional stunt for a production of Don't Shoot The Messenger by the Mikron Theatre company in which 'a gun-toting hoodlum holds up a sleepy village Post Office'.

The play was performed in July this year at Sonning Lock cafe.

A spokesman for the Royal Mail, Val Bodden, said: 'The recent appearance of a postbox frontage on the side of the river bridge at Sonning is a mystery to us.

'It is certainly not an operational posting facility and we have no knowledge of how it arrived at this location.'

Sonningis a civil parish in the Borough of Wokingham in the English county of Berkshire, a few miles east of Reading. The village is situated on the River Thames and was described by Jerome K. Jerome in his book Three Men in a Boat as "the most fairy-like little nook on the whole river".

Print of Sonning Bridge (1799) with the tower of St Andrew's Church, Sonning, in the background.

'St Andrew's Church is notable for its fine array of church monuments and for being the successor of an Anglo-Saxon Cathedral.'

The church is close to the historic Bishop's Palace, which has long since disappeared apart from some grassy mounds. The historic Bull Inn is immediately next to the church away from the river and is owned by the church. (We see from here the Bull and St. Andrews are connected)

Saint Andrew, brother of Saint Peter, was the founder and the first bishop of the Church of Byzantium and is consequently the patron saint of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. Saint Andrew is the Patron Saint of Scotland and Constantinople.

'Relics of the Apostle Andrew are kept at the Basilica of St Andrew in Patras, Greece; the Duomo di Sant'Andrea, Amalfi, Italy; St Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral, Edinburgh, Scotland; and the Church of St Andrew and St Albert, Warsaw, Poland. There are also numerous smaller reliquaries throughout the world.'

Istanbul in Turkey is named, Istan being in Spain. Bull fighting is associated with Spain. With 'hearing' - 'the Jews are ruling from Valencia', this is in Spain. We are shown England, Scotland, Spain and Byzantium Greece are connected. Above, Greece, Italy and Poland too.

Evidently this Royal Mail box is put there for a reason. Is this a New Royal Mail Box to prepare the way of the next chapter. On a brick bridge, we are reminded of building bridges.

A bridge over water, is River Thames water troubled water?

Is there going to be a happy ever after to the fairy-tale?

Sonning is twinned with Ligugé, France known for its historic Benedictine monastery.

In England, Westminster Cathedral and Westminster Abbey, built by the Benedictine monks. It is in Westminster Abbey that the monarchs of England have their Coronation.

With the original article identifying 'Don't Shoot the Messenger' - this is not just someone who is providing information. Messengers refer to heavenly messengers too.

"All postboxes carry the Royal Cypher of the Monarch who was on the throne when it (the postbox) was installed. Currently EIIR. This has no cypher visible so it is a stunt or fake post box. Don't post a letter in it it will take weeks if at all!" - Richard , London, United Kingdom, 10/9/2013 20:09

Is someone planning to shoot a divinely guided messenger?

Berkshire is home to Windsor Castle - the Queen's Residence.

Being born from a Greek Athenian Mother, Athena, whose motherland is Smyrna (Izmir) where the Temple of Athena stood - Smyrna is one of the Churches identified in the Holy Bible that is given the Crown of Life. The Church of Thyatira is given the Crown of All Nations.

No one can cheat their way to obtain a Crown given by God.

People have said the Crown has been stolen. Only time will tell if Queen Elizabeth will do right by the people. She does not bring an end to the wars, or all the injustice taking place.

Peace, love and best wishes
